UNIL Masters Grants for International Students in Switzerland, 2016-2017


Applications are invited for UNIL Masters Grants available for foreign students for autumn semester 2015 and spring semester 2016 intake. The grant may not be used for any complementary studies required to enroll on the Master’s degree and may not be used for EMBAs or Masters of Advanced studies. The amount of the grant is CHF 1,600.- per month from 15 September to 15 July, for a duration not exceeding the regulation minimum period of the programme. Applications must be submitted before 15 December 2015.
Study Subject(s): Candidates must choose a Master’s programme from among those offered by the UNIL, except: Master of Medicine, Master of Arts in Sciences and Practices of Education, Master of Law from the Universities of Zurich and Lausanne, Master of Law in Criminal Sciences, judiciary mention and All the MAS (3rd cycle programmes).

Scholarship Description: To facilitate access to Master’s degrees by students with qualifications from foreign universities, the University of Lausanne makes available around ten Master’s grants which are awarded on a competitive basis. The grant may not be used for any complementary studies required to enroll on the Master’s degree and may not be used for EMBAs or Masters of Advanced studies.

Abandonment of the programme results in suspension of the grant.
Selection Criteria: The grants are intended more particularly for students who distinguished themselves in their university studies and who have difficulty meeting their financial needs for the duration of the Master’s. It is however necessary that the candidates have sufficient financial means to support themselves during the complementary studies that may be required prior to enroll on the Master’s degree.
Notification: The SASC will inform candidates of the decision taken by the UNIL in writing latest by the end of March.
How to Apply: Candidates complete the “UNIL Master’s Grant” form and submit their application to the Office for socio-cultural affairs (SASC, Unicentre, University of Lausanne, CH-1015 Lausanne, info.sasc-at-unil.ch) within the deadline. The application is examined by the University Rectorate to determine whether the candidate is admissible.

Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship (NPGS) for Singaporean and International Students, 2016-2017

Applications are invited for Nanyang President’s Graduate scholarship for 2016-2017 academic year. Scholarships are available for outstanding graduates or final-year students to take their first step towards a leading research career by studying for a PhD at NTU. There is no restriction as to the nationality of candidates but all things being equal, preference will be given to Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents. Funding will be provided for up to 4 years for NPGS awardees. The application deadline is 30 November 2015.
Study Subject(s): Scholarships are awarded in all subjects available at the Nanyang Technological University.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing doctoral degree programme (PhD) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

Eligibility: There is no restriction as to the nationality of candidates but all things being equal, preference will be given to Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents. To qualify for a NPGS award, you must have a First Class Honours degree or equivalent at Bachelor’s level and applicants should also demonstrate excellent research abilities. The PhD research will be in any topic agreed between you and your chosen NTU supervisor within the research activities of NTU. At the time of application, if you have not yet completed your undergraduate degree programme, you will need to furnish documentation from your university that you are on track to get a First Class Honours degree or equivalent. Failure to do so will disqualify you from the NPGS award, in which case you may be considered for other NTU PhD research scholarships, subject to meeting the selection criteria. During the first year, you will be expected to take relevant courses and to work towards passing the qualifying examination. In the event that this qualification is not met, there will be no conversion to a Masters degree for the NPGS awardees.

Notification: Only successful NPGS candidates will be informed via email or post. The results will usually be known in May or June.

Scholarship Description
AAUW (formerly American Association of University Women) has a long and distinguished history of advancing educational and professional opportunities for women in the United States and around the globe.

AAUW awards International Fellowships for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are NOT United States citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate study at accredited institutions are supported.





AAUW International Fellowships

Eligibility
Applicants must be women and have citizenship in a country other than the United States or possession of a nonimmigrant visa if residing in the United States. Women holding dual citizenship in the United States and another country are not eligible.

Applicants must have earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree (earned in the U.S. or abroad) by 30 September 2015 and must have applied to their proposed institutions of study by the time of the application.

Applicants must be proficient in English and must intend to return to her home country to pursue a professional career.

Preference is given to women who show prior commitment to the advancement of women and girls through civic, community, or professional work.
